Remedial Massage + 5 Key Benefits

Remedial massage is effective for easing pain and inflammation related to problems affecting muscles, tendons, fascia (connective tissue).

If you're in pain it's the body’s way of telling you that something is wrong. Are you suffering from aches and pains or seeking faster recovery following injury or surgery?

Whether it’s a nagging twinge, dull ache or an acute injury, being in pain can not only be distracting, it can also be debilitating and stop you from doing the things you love.

By supporting and speeding up your body’s own repair mechanisms, our cutting-edge clinical remedial massage treatment works to draw out your pain and discomfort.

Remedial Massage (60 or 90 minutes)

Our clinical remedial massage techniques ease pain and inflammation to enable your body to heal quicker.

With remedial massage our therapist who is trained in advanced clinical bodywork and visceral manipulation will work on muscles, tendons, ligaments, connective tissue or fascia within the body, to help alleviate areas experiencing stiffness, soreness and pain to improve overall function and physical health.

The key thing to remember is that pain isn't always coming from the part of the body that you think it is (where you're feeling it). Pain can radiate to other areas. The restriction may be in the lower back or gluteal muscles, for example, but you may be feeling the pain or discomfort in the hamstrings or down through the legs to the feet.

Likewise, headaches can stem from the neck and shoulders.

That’s why our therapist always carries out a systemic assessment so she can isolate where the pain is coming from and effectively treat it.

" Great service and treatments which have really helped with my hip, groin and shoulder pain. Nicola's understanding of your body and muscles etc is fab and she knows exactly where to go to address the issues.

I struggled to walk during hip pain following pregnancy and after seeing her for a few treatments the pain has reduced massively."

Remedial Massage - 5 Key Benefits

1. Increases range of motion

Remedial massage works to improve joint mobility and relieve tightness and contraction in the body.

2. Relieves pain

Our therapist will identify and treat the source of your pain, and speed up your body’s own healing processes for immediate and ongoing relief.

3. Enables relaxation

When you’re in pain, your body goes into a flight or fight mode where everything is tense and tight. If the pain is alleviated, your body relaxes along with your nervous system allowing the release of cortisol to also take place.

4. Facilitates healing & boosts Immunity

Remedial massage increases blood flow and the flow of lymphatic fluid, which enables your body to heal quicker as well as strengthening immunity.

5. Improves sleep

Sleeping better is a common outcome when pain is alleviated and stress is  removed.
