Women’s Health

Women's health doesn't have to be complicated. It often is, but it doesn't need to be.

Why Women's Health Can Be Challenging

Studies show that 60% of women have at least one symptom of poor pelvic health. And it’s no wonder when you consider the journey a woman’s body can take through life.

Certain stages in a woman’s life can lead to tissue imbalance e.g. during pregnancy because of mechanical stresses, and during menopause due to hormonal changes.

C-section surgery, episiotomies, assisted births and hysterectomies will also create adhesions and influence the tissues and organs surrounding the abdominal and pelvic area.

As a woman though, you shouldn’t have to accept pain, frustration and compromised health no matter what your age.

Women of Reproductive Age

Our culture has led us to believe that what is common is normal. But it’s not normal to have pain with your period, mood changes and heavy bleeding.

These symptoms are messages from your body saying there is an imbalance.

Together, we can figure out what is causing it and resolve it.

"I have been struggling with endometriosis - heavy periods, abdominal pain and throwing up for years.

The visceral and neural therapy and nutrition advice I've had from Nicola has helped to normalise my periods.

I now no longer have to deal with pain and lengthy periods of bleeding. I am also not throwing up anymore! Highly recommend Nicola for menstrual problems."

Peri-Menopausal Women

We are led to believe that perimenopause is a time of life that can go on for years in which we experience significant physical and emotional disruption to our wellness.

Our female ancestors and other cultures knew that they were menopausal when their period stopped.

Physical and emotional turbulence is common today because of diet, nutrition and lifestyle factors as well as environmental exposures and toxin overload.

Post-Menopausal Women

After menopause women accept a little urinary leakage and possibly prolapse as normal. But there are things we can do to help improve function.

Functioning of bone, muscle, digestive, cardiovascular and brain are all things that can be improved with natural treatments.

Gut Health & Digestive Disorders

As well as hormone and pelvic health issues women unfortunately tend to have a more sensitive GI tract than men.

This means that women are often more prone to IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and other digestive issues than men, and, because of the added sensitivity, might experience worse or more intense symptoms.

In addition to that, gut health affects regular oestrogen production and immune function, so we definitely want to be doing all we can to support healthy digestion and gut function.
